Heather Johanson M.A.

Heather Johanson is an educational consultant who specializes in supporting families with neurodivergent learners and mental health needs—particularly kids who don’t thrive in traditional school settings.  She brings more than 20 years in public education, working across classrooms and roles in special education, along with six years in educational advocacy, to help families navigate complex decisions with clarity and calm.

Over time, Heather’s work has evolved from hands-on advocacy to a more consultative, behind-the-scenes role—helping parents think strategically, understand their options, and approach schools and providers with confidence. With a foundation in reading and dyslexia intervention, executive functioning, and years spent mentoring educators and coaching families, she is known for her warmth and ability to connect with teens and children who think and learn outside the box.

Her approach is holistic, practical, and deeply human. She supports families in finding the just-right learning environment for their child and coaching parents as they navigate educational systems.
